Recycling of Coal Fly Ash in Building Materials: A Review
نویسندگان
چکیده
Coal fly ash (CFA) is a type of solid waste produced in the process coal combustion, which rich silicon oxide, aluminum oxide and small number heavy metals radioactive elements. Therefore, CFA considered secondary resource with high recovery value. Currently, mainly reused fields building materials, mine backfilling, soil conditioners fertilizers, among production materials one most important ways to realize large-scale utilization CFA. This paper introduces physical chemical properties, classification environmental impact summarizes status such as cement, concrete, ceramics geopolymers, well management policy In addition, existing problems material are analyzed, their development prospects discussed.

Production geopolymer materials by coal fly ash
Coal ash is the main waste from power plant. It is estimated that the consumption of the coal for power plant will increase to 240 million tons each year and the coal ash wastes will produce more than 2 million tons per year. Although the utilization of coal fly ash can be reached 74.1%, large amount of coal fly ash and bottom ash still cannot be utilized. The purpose of this research is to dev...
متن کاملDistribution of trace elements in coal and coal fly ash and their recovery with mineral processing practices: A review
Today coal is among the most important energy sources. In order to meet the world's energy demands, low-calorie lignite with a high ash content is generally used in the large capacity coal-fired thermal power plants. As a result of coal firing, wastes such as fly ash, slag, and flue gas are also produced. Subsequently, toxic trace elements within coal are transferred to wastes such as slag, fl...
متن کاملThe respiratory toxicity of coal fly ash
The aim of this study was to compare the relative respiratory toxicity of CFA samples obtained from three Chinese coal-burning power stations to CFA obtained from a UK coal-burning power station; both bulk and respirable PM10 samples were tested. In order to elucidate CFA toxicity, a multi-disciplinary approach was taken, thereby considering geochemical aspects of the fly ash as well as biochem...
متن کاملHealth aspects of coal fly ash
Employees of coal-fired power stations and people living nearby as well as those involved in the shipment and processing of coal fly ash can be exposed to coal fly ash (pulverised fuel ash or “PFA”). An extensive research program was carried out in order to map such exposure and its effects. Particle size distribution, chemical composition, quartz, radioactivity, emission factors and fugitive d...
متن کاملRecycling of Coal Fly Ash for the Fabrication of Porous Mullite/Alumina Composites
Coal fly ash with the addition of Al₂O₃ was recycled to produce mullite/alumina composites and the camphene-based freeze casting technique was processed to develop a controlled porous structure with improved mechanical strength. Many rod-shaped mullite crystals, formed by the mullitization of coal fly ash in the presence of enough silicate, melt. After sintering at 1300-1500 °C with the initial...
